The Art of Blake Edwards

The Art of Blake Edwards
Curated by Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer of FEINGARTEN GALLERIES
On view January 9th - 31st, 2009
Pacific Design Center
8687 Melrose Avenue
West Hollywood,
CA 90069
United States of America
One of Hollywood’s most distinguished writers/directors, Blake Edwards has also been a painter and sculptor for over 40 years. He brings to his art the same passion, elegance and humor that delights us in his films. Feingarten Galleries is proud to present his first retrospective. “I didn’t want to do it,” Edwards says of the exhibition. “My artwork is my own private vice — I don’t have to worry about competing with anyone or worrying what the critics would say. Even by giving this interview, I feel like I’ve sold out to the devil.”
